A church-wide day to serve the Triangle! Join us for a day of service with 13 local organizations and 18 different service projects. There’s something for everyone!

Our Partners/Projects

International Friends Dinner / Fri, April 5, 6 - 8 pm

Volunteers will help prepare and serve for the International Friends Dinner for 100 students at the UNC campus. This event is for Friday, April 5 from 6-8 pm at University Presbyterian Church. Up to 15 volunteers.

Habitat for Humanity (Orange County)

Volunteers will help construct a home for a family in need.

Samaritan Health Center

ARTISTS NEEDED! Volunteers will design/paint a display for volunteer name tags and a map of the world mural on the wall of the clinic. Up to 8 volunteers.

Club Boulevard Elementary

Volunteers will gather trash and tidy grounds for this elementary school. It is located in an urban setting with much foot traffic which leads to a lot of trash being thrown on the property. In addition, this team is being asked to spend some time together on that day to pray for specific requests for the school. Gloves and trashbags will be provided. Up to 10 volunteers. Good for all ages.

Reality Ministry

Volunteers will join staff and Reality participants at a community work day at the new "Reality Community Farm" ending with a potluck lunch. Up to 20 volunteers. Volunteers should bring water bottles, work gloves and food for potluck if they are planning on lunch. Project good for all ages.

Durham County Department of Social Services (Project #1)

Volunteers will help specific foster families in need of assistance with yard or home projects. This team will be under the leadership of the church Handyman ministry. All ages for yard work. Older teens and adults for home projects (if tools are involved). Up to 5 volunteers. 

Durham County Department of Social Services (Project #2)

Volunteers will prepare "freezer-ready" meals for foster families. Tasks will include shopping for ingredients, making and packaging meals and delivering the meals. Suggested recipes can be provided. Up to 10 volunteers working together in CHBC kitchen. Additional cooking teams can be organized in private homes on April 6th.

Orange County Department of Social Services (Project #1)

Volunteers will help specific foster families in need of assistance with yard or home projects. This team will be under the leadership of the church Handyman ministry. Up to 5 volunteers.


All ages for yard work. Older teens and adults for home projects (if tools are involved).

Volunteers will help in the Habitat ReStore sorting donations and setting up merchandise to be sold. 10 am-12 pm. Up to 15 volunteers.

Durham Rescue Mission (Project #1)

Volunteers will help serve lunch at the Men's Shelter (11 am - 1 pm). Up to 12 volunteers. 

Durham Rescue Mission (Project #2)

Volunteers will help sort clothing and household donations at Store #3 (15-501 location). Up to 20 volunteers (morning until 1:30 pm).

Durham Rescue Mission (Project #3)

Volunteers will help sort clothing and household donations at Store #2 (Brier Creek location) Up to 20 volunteers (morning until 1:30pm).

Githens Middle School

Volunteers will paint a classroom and work on flower beds. Up to 5 volunteers.

CHBC Handyman Ministry

Volunteers will help with needs that arise for Big Serve Day, but also can serve as part of the ongoing ministry.

Center for Christianity and Scholarship @ Duke University

Volunteers will serve at the newly acquired space at Duke working on cleaning it up, lots of painting, decorating, etc. Up to 8 volunteers.

World Relief Durham

Volunteers will serve in the warehouse sorting and organizing kitchen and cleaning supplies and toiletries - getting them out of boxes and onto shelving. Up to 10 volunteers.

Childcare for BIG Serve

Volunteers will provide supervision/care for children at the church in order for their parents to serve on various Big Serve projects. Approximately 4 volunteers needed (TBD by family needs).
