New to the Bible Church?

You might be wondering, what's it really like at the Bible Church? Simply stated, we're all about Jesus. You won't be met with shame, guilt, or condemnation. And we don't care how you're dressed or what candidate you voted for. Our church is made up of imperfect people with every kind of story imaginable.

Want to know the best part? No matter what you've been through or what questions you might have about God and faith, our church is a place where you'll find the love, grace, and forgiveness Jesus gives to everyone.

Welcome from Pastor Jay Thomas

Sunday services at 9:15 am & 11:05 am

The message of truth, hope, and beauty is our boast. It is the proclamation of a crucified Savior, a risen King, and a returning Redeemer. Chapel Hill Bible Church desires to see the powerful gospel of Jesus Christ bring glory to God as it forever transforms us, our city, and the world. Please join us as the grace of Jesus Christ makes us deeply joyful, deeply grateful, and deeply changed.

Every Sunday morning, we have folks available for conversation and assistance in the Guest Welcome area just off the foyer where the hospitable team is always ready to answer any questions you may have. Drop by after a service to meet some folks!

Got a quick question? Need a brochure to describe a ministry in which you may be interested? Looking for a map to help you learn your way around our large facility? The team in GUEST RECEPTION in the foyer seeks to provide answers, resources, and assistance. If they don't know the answer to your question, they'll find out!

What is the worship service like?

Our Sunday morning services start at 9:15 and 11:05 and last about an hour and a fifteen minutes. Every service includes music, a message from the Bible, prayer, and sharing information about church events and needs. Other elements happen on a more occasional basis, such as baptism, communion, and stories of transformation from our church family.

The worship services are grounded by the teaching of the Bible. This teaching can be best described as the exposition of a Biblical text in context, what is sometimes called "expository preaching." We want our services to be Christ-centered, emotionally inspiring, and intellectually challenging.

We're a diverse family from all walks of life, backgrounds, cultures, education and ethnicity. And, our musical style generally reflects that diversity. Thus, on a given Sunday, our musical styles incorporate a diverse offering of songs in a contemporary format. We love all styles and have fun creating a worship experience that engages all believers in praise of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Is this a safe place to explore Christianity?

No matter where you are spiritually, we hope that you will feel welcome at our church and leave wanting to know more about Jesus.

What should I wear?

We believe that the heart attitude matters more than appearance. If coming to worship means wearing jeans and a t-shirt, then wear that. If it means being more formal, even something like a suit and tie or a dress, then wear that. You will see a variety of apparel at our church. The beauty of the gospel is that it is about Jesus, not about us.

What do I do with my kid(s)?

Your children are more than welcome to stay with you in the worship service. But, if you would like for your child to attend our children's programming, we have a lot to offer.

The safety and security of your child is a priority for us. We require all children (5th grade and under) to be checked in at one of our check-in kiosks located in the education wing of our campus at the top/bottom of the stairs. At check-in, your child(ren) will receive a name tag along with a matching claim ticket which will be required to pick up your child following the service. This will allow us to know exactly where your child is throughout the morning, and have instant access to your contact information just in case your child needs you.

Our children's programming starts at 9:05 and 10:55 am for all ages.

  • Nursery (0-2) - Our nursery provides a safe, secure, and loving environment where your little one can enjoy colorful and age-appropriate toys.
  • Sunday School (3-11) - Our children's Sunday school program is creative and fun, yet serious about helping children grow spiritually in their understanding of, who God is.
  • Our teachers and assistants are committed to being there weekly to provide stable and loving relationships that promote spiritual growth.

If you have tweens or teenagers, they are invited to attend the service with you. Otherwise, we'd invite your students to join us on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am for Middle and High School youth group offered downstairs at 9:15 am. Additionally, The Yard (youth group) meets Wednesday from 7-8:30 pm downstairs in the youth rooms.
