Kids Ministry Reopens Sunday, November 8, 9 am
LOGISTICAL/HALLWAY ROLES (AVAILABLE NOV. 8)
Greeter
- Manages the entry to the Kids Ministry check-in area.
- Warmly greets families upon arrival as the “first (masked) face” of Kids Ministry.
- Confirms that families are pre-registered, can answer the health survey questions adequately, and only have one adult entering the check-in area.
- Kindly tells families who are not pre-registered and/or do not answer the health survey questions adequately that they may not enter the Kids Ministry area.
- Updates KM staff of issues with volunteer no-shows or children being turned away.
Health Screener
- Take temperatures of all pre-registered children and parents who will be entering the Kids Ministry wing for child drop-off.
- Kindly turn away families who do not meet the temperature requirement.
Upstairs Hall Monitor
- Assist families during check-in with child pickup ticket and child drop-off by giving directions to classes, explaining the approved exits, and making sure that parents only enter the Kids Ministry wing under the correct circumstances.
- Maintain a secure environment in the Kids Ministry wing and act as an extra set of hands or eyes as the supervisor or classroom volunteers require.
Downstairs Hall Monitor/Supervisor
- Help direct children and families to their downstairs classrooms and assist parents with the pick-up process.
- Maintain a secure environment in the Kids Ministry wing and act as an extra set of hands or eyes as the supervisor or classroom volunteers require.
Supervisor
- Oversee all Sunday Kids Ministry operations, enforce policies, assist classes as needed, take headcount attendance, collect offerings, provide midyear volunteer training (if/as needed), and work to build Kids Ministry community.
CLASSROOM ROLES — AGES 2 AND UP (AVAILABLE NOV. 8)
Emcee
- Act as catalyst for engagement and community within the classroom during the entire welcome time and throughout the large group video presentation segment.
- Lead the transition to small group.
Small group leaders (age 4 through 5th grade)
- Shepherd kids during small group time and build intentional relationships with each of them and their families.
- Listen and lead kids in discussions about the lesson and how to live out their faith.
- Provide a safe place for questions.
- Share your faith and your love for the Lord with the kids in your group.
- Devote the time you are here on Sunday morning completely to the kids in your group.
Tech assistants (kindergarten through 5th grade)
- Partner with Kids Minister, emcee and small group leaders to ensure Sunday program runs smoothly.
- Control all lights, audio and visuals for the assembly room.
- Ensure background music plays before service starts and “Kids Online” video plays properly for “large group” portion of class.
- Run ProPresenter for music lyrics, videos and anything else for visual presentation on assembly room TV screens.
- Ensure all systems are properly shut down and all items are safely stored at the conclusion of service.
2’s/3’s classroom teacher
- Provide a safe/nurturing environment for kids.
- Shepherd kids and building intentional relationships with each of them and their families.
- Listen and lead kids in discussions about the lesson and how to live out their faith.

- Change diapers (adult women only, in 2-year-old class) in a safe, sanitary fashion, as needed.
2’s/3’s classroom assistant
- Provide a safe/nurturing environment for kids.
- Assist teacher in shepherding kids and building intentional relationships with each of them and their families.
- Assist teacher as needed with activities.
- Devote the time you are here on Sunday morning completely to the kids in your group.
- Help change diapers (adult women only, in 2-year-old class) in a safe, sanitary fashion, as needed.
Nursery/Toddler caregivers
- Provide loving care for babies and toddlers.
- Change diapers (women only) in a safe, sanitary fashion, as needed.
- Communicate to the Nursery/Toddler desk supervisor about any needs.
CLASSROOM ROLES - NURSERY/TODDLERS (OPENING LATER THIS WINTER)
2’s/3’s desk supervisor
- Greet parents and receive instructions/thoughts from them.
- Put a nametag on diaper bags (if parents haven’t already done this at the check-in area).
- Help children transition to/from classrooms, including lifting children over the gate, if needed.
- Send word to Nursery/Toddler desk supervisor to page parents in service if a need with a child arises.
Nursery/Toddler desk supervisor
- Oversee Nursery/Toddler rooms and provide direction/assistance as needed.
