Graduating Senior Celebration

Sunday, June 9 (Register by May 22!)

Celebrate our graduating seniors on June 9 during and after the 10am service!

Our Graduating Senior Celebration is a special Sunday in the life of our church and the youth ministry. Our aim is to glorify God by honoring our graduating seniors, their parents, and their small group leaders. To that end, the morning consists of two parts: (1) students are blessed (similar to child dedications) and commissioned before the congregation and (2) students, parents, and leaders gather for lunch afterwards.

Commissioning and Blessing

The commissioning and blessing will occur during public worship. We will only have one service this summer, at 10am. Graduates will arrive at 9:45am, meet with Matt, and receive instructions from him about when they are to come on stage. In the registration form, we request a head shot or graduation photo to display on the projectors as your student is commissioned.

TL;DR

  • Commissioning will occur in the 10am service.
  • Your graduate should arrive by 9:45am to meet with Matt beforehand.
  • Please upload a head shot or graduation photo via the registration form below.

Senior Celebration Lunch

After the service, graduates and their families and friends are invited to a lunch provided by CHBC. We will fellowship over good food and hear from each graduate's guest speaker. Here's what we need from participating graduates:

  1. We need between 5 and 10 photos of your graduate from throughout his or her life for a slideshow and table decorations. You can upload these via the form below.
  2. Invite a guest speaker: someone who has been influential in your graduate's life. Feel free to keep the identity of the guest a secret from your graduate! We ask that the speaker share important memories of your graduate's life and growth and encourage your graduate in his or her future pursuits. (The speaker need not be a follower of Christ, but the ability to encourage your graduate in the Lord Jesus is no doubt a good thing.)

TL;DR

  • Graduates, families, and friends are invited to a celebration lunch provided by CHBC after the service.
  • Use the registration form below to upload photos and inform us of the guest speaker you plan to invite.
